Goleta - SB Sheriff arrested 63 year old John Owen and accused him of molesting a local teenager since 2000 when the victim was seven years old and continued for four years.  Bail was set and posted by Owen for $100K.

Last week a 17-year old girl and her father reported to the Sheriff’s Department that the girl had been molested when she was a young girl.  Detectives learned that beginning in 2000, when the victim was seven years old, she would be taken to the suspect’s home to be cared for during the weekend. It was during her visits that the abuse began and continued for four years.

Detectives investigated by searching Owens' home and interviewed him as well.  Authorities reported the search of residence revealed graphic photos of the victim which corellated to the time of the alleged abuse.
