SANTA BARBARA - A Jeep Cherokee erupted in flames this afternoon at about 3pm at Bath and Micheltorrena. The jeep was experiencing mechanical problems when the drive shaft penetrated the fuel tank.

 

Santa Barbara City Fire arrived on the scene, and although there were no structures involved, the tires burned and then exploded in a fiery display fit for Hollywood.
