In the back parking lot of CVS on Turnpike and Hollister, a youth was approached this morning by four other youths that may have come from East LA.  The young men challenged the boy to a fight.  One of the youths brandished a firearm and then all four ran towards San Marcos HS.  The school is shutdown and is being searched room by room.

Nearby El Camino Elementary School has also been been put on lockdown while Sheriff’s Deputies saturate the area.

The youth is described by SB County Sheriff as a Hispanic male between 16-19 years old, wearing a long white shirt and dark pants with yellow boxer undershorts, clean shaven, medium length buzz cut hair. He may be accompanied by three other teenage males all carrying backpacks.

Sheriff reports that no one has been taken into custody at this time, however there are reports that at two of the youths have been taken into custody thus far.  SB County Fire dept has also just been dispatched to the scene.

Four male students were identified as possibly being involved in the initial confrontation. All four cooperated with school staff and deputies during the investigation. After being informed of the situation, they disclosed that they had been in a confrontation off campus and that one of them had actually pointed a sports drink bottle at the car. Where did you hear of gang grafitti? I missed that part.
